Romance of the Three Kingdoms

Zhang He, also known as Junyi, was a prominent general who served under Cao Cao, Cao Pi, and Cao Rui of the Kingdom of Wei during the Three Kingdoms period of Chinese history. Originally serving under the warlord Han Fu, Zhang He later defected to Yuan Shao.

Recognizing Yuan Shao's poor leadership, Zhang He eventually surrendered to Cao Cao after the Battle of Guandu, where he impressed Cao Cao with his tactical acumen. From then on, he became a key figure in Wei's military campaigns.

Zhang He participated in numerous battles, distinguishing himself through his adaptability and strategic foresight. He was particularly adept at analyzing terrain and exploiting enemy weaknesses. He successfully defended Hanzhong against Liu Bei's forces and played a crucial role in various campaigns against Shu Han.

He met his end during the Fourth Northern Expedition led by Zhuge Liang. While pursuing the retreating Shu forces, Zhang He was ambushed and killed. He is remembered as one of Wei's most capable and respected generals.
